The Grand Tetons

We left Yellowstone and camped about halfway between there and the Grand Tetons at a nice little campsite, where we met an interesting older man who seemed to have made the area his permanent dwelling place and ensured us that he would be find with "allowing us to stay there for the evening". Gee thanks. Ha! After that interesting conversation, Taylor, Mike, Jessica and I tried to keep to ourselves in our little camp site and packed up shortly after waking up to head to the Grand Tetons!

As we drove our way toward the enormous and jagged mountains, Taylor burst out, saying "NOW THOSE ARE MOUNTAINS!!" He could hardly contain his excitement (or drive in between the lines from looking out the windows too much!) as we arrived to the base of the beautiful peaks. Taylor and Mike decided to take on a route called the Owen Spalding, which takes about 7 hours to complete and involves some rock climbing and repelling. Jessica, who was also going to go on the hike, unfortunately developed some shin splints and decided to sit that one out. And as for me, there was NO way I was giving that one a try! So the boys are currently hiking up to the tip top of a huge mountain and us girls are enjoying our "ladies night", which has so far involved delicious coffee at a cozy coffee shop, computer catch-up time, and a beautiful campsite right on a lake that does not require any hiking whatsoever to get to! (Although it did involve setting up the tent all by ourselves, which went less smoothly than we had hoped it would. Guess we still need some more practice!) I think we win for the evening :)

Our time traveling with Mike and Jessica has been an absolute blessing from the moment it began! They are a wonderful couple, who seem to share so many of our same interests, and have become very fast and close friends! We have been so thankful to have them and are going to be so sad to have to split ways with them in the next couple of days.

The guys getting ready for their big hike!
I've been dying to see a moose so I just had to give this one a smooch when I saw him!
